Even before the pandemic research showed that of those entering the workplace the top priority of millennials was "being in a role you're passionate about" (44%), beating "money at 42%" (Department 26, 2018).
Following the pandemic, the narrative surrounding "The Great Resignation" remains that people are quitting their jobs to "follow their passion" (Forbes.com, 2022) with research being quoted which suggests that "passion" results in higher performance.
HOWEVER
Financial security is top of the list in a poll of "milestones" conducted by Comparethemarket in 2022, and whilst a huge rise in pay ie from $40,000 (approx. £34,119) to $80,000 (approx. £68,238) does reveal an increase in life satisfaction, the jump in positive affect (happiness)
